In 2006 Michael Milazzo received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of San Francisco and is currently practicing as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (lic# IMF52298). Michael works with AGING MATTERS INC. and is clinically supervised by Dr. Jane L. Mahakian, Ph.D, (lic# MFT30045). He is also a volunteer risk-reduction counselor in a San Francisco community health clinic.

Michael’s primary work as a Geriatric Care Manager focuses on enhancing the life of the older person with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias through individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, psychoeducation, ongoing assessment, care management, and patient advocacy. Close contact with the client’s family, doctors and care givers allow Michael to effectively aid the elder client, and to maintain or increase independence whenever possible.
